Little Picasso

Thoughts of having really creative artistic playtimes with Lauren always gave me the desire to have her hurry up and grow up some. We do playdough already and she does really well with that. I have had paint for months now but still hesitant to try it out with her. In a deseperate attempt to keep her occupied I decided we would try it and see how it went.

We had a great time!! The table, chairs, clothes, potty chair, counter, floor, and her hands and face were covered in red paint!! I did not have the heart to squash her artistic endeavor. When all was said and done, it took a 45 minute bath to get all the paint off of her and another 30 minutes to get everything clean.

The things we find...

I get amazed at the amount of information available on the internet every time I use it. Michael called me and told me that there are pics of him on the Internet from a skateboarding competition he competed in while he was here for the summer. Of course, I had my doubts. Once again I was proven wrong by my too smart son!

The competition was the Williamsburg VA skate competition in August. Michael won 1st place in his division. It was 100+ degrees that day, no shade, and he had been skating for hours already. I thought he did GREAT!!!!

Here is a picture of him that was in the local paper and on the web..

Dredlocks anyone??

Michael sported his new hairdo...dredlocks!
Amazing how fast hair grows!
As you can see from the pictures, Michael decided to model his dredlocks for Halloween! LOL, still don't get why the self portaits in mirrors are so popular. Guess I am just not hip enough!
Instead of trick or treating Michael and his friends hung out at Erwin park and skateboarded. I wonder if he was able to perfect another trick, what a treat that would have been!! (sorry, couldn't resist!)
